Last updated: 8 September 2026
These terms apply to every job we carry out. By accepting a quote from us — in writing, by email, or by confirming a booking — you agree to them. Please read them before you book.
1. Who we are
MoveDay Removals Ltd, trading as MoveDay Removals, is a company registered in England and Wales. Company number 13821165. Registered address: 88 Beecholme Drive, Kennington, Ashford, England, TN24 9BZ. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean MoveDay Removals, and “you” means the person or business booking the move.
2. Your quote
Our quote is based on the information you give us — the inventory, the collection and delivery addresses, the date, and the access at both ends. It holds for 14 days from the date we send it.
The weight shown on your quote is an estimate calculated from your inventory list. It is not a weighed figure. If the actual load is materially larger or heavier than the inventory you gave us, we may need to revise the price or supply a larger vehicle. We will always speak to you before any price changes. You are free to decline and cancel without charge at that point.
If your dates, addresses or inventory change, tell us and we will requote. There is no charge for requoting.
3. What is included
Unless your quote says otherwise, the price covers:
- Loading at the collection address
- Transport to the delivery address
- Unloading and placing items in the room of your choice
- Furniture protection with blankets and straps in transit
- Goods in transit insurance for the duration of the move
- Fuel, tolls and ferry or tunnel crossings where these are stated in the quote
4. What is not included
The following are charged separately and only if you ask for them, or if they become necessary:
- Packing your belongings, and packing materials
- Dismantling or reassembling furniture beyond what is needed to move it
- Disconnecting or reconnecting appliances, gas, water or electrical fittings
- Storage between collection and delivery
- Parking suspensions, permits, congestion or clean air charges
- Waiting time caused by delays outside our control (see clause 8)
- Customs duties, taxes or inspection fees levied by any authority
5. Booking and deposit
Your booking is confirmed once you accept a quote and we acknowledge it. To hold a date we ask for a deposit of [DEPOSIT AMOUNT OR PERCENTAGE], payable on booking. The deposit comes off the final balance.
6. Payment
The balance is due [WHEN — e.g. on completion of delivery / before unloading / within 7 days for account customers]. We accept [PAYMENT METHODS].
We reserve the right to withhold delivery of goods where payment that is due has not been made. Late payment on business accounts may carry interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
7. Cancellation and postponement
If you cancel or postpone:
- More than [X] days before the move — deposit refunded in full
- [X] to [Y] days before — deposit retained
- Less than [Y] days before, or on the day — [PERCENTAGE]% of the total quoted price is payable
These charges reflect the vehicle and crew we have set aside for you and can no longer allocate elsewhere.
If we cancel: we will refund everything you have paid in full. Where the cancellation is our fault, we will also help you find an alternative provider. We are not liable for consequential losses such as lost rent, hotel costs or missed completion dates.
8. Access, parking and waiting time
You are responsible for arranging suitable, legal parking at both addresses, and for telling us in advance about anything that affects access — stairs, no lift, narrow roads, permit zones, gated estates, restricted delivery hours.
If we cannot park within a reasonable distance, or we are kept waiting through no fault of ours, we may charge waiting time at [RATE] per hour after the first [X] minutes. We will tell you at the time rather than surprising you on the invoice.
9. Goods we will not move
We cannot carry:
- Cash, jewellery, deeds, securities, or items of unusual sentimental value
- Illegal or stolen goods, drugs, or anything prohibited by law
- Firearms, ammunition or explosives
- Flammable, corrosive, toxic or otherwise hazardous substances, including gas bottles and paint
- Plants, live animals, or perishable food
Please remove these before we arrive. If such items are found in the load we may refuse to carry them, and we accept no liability for them.
10. Your responsibilities
You must:
- Give us a complete and accurate inventory
- Be present, or have someone authorised present, at both collection and delivery
- Make sure everything you want moved is ready and, if you are packing yourself, properly packed
- Check nothing has been left behind before we leave either address
- Supply accurate customs paperwork for international moves (see clause 13)
Where you have packed a container yourself, we are not liable for damage to its contents unless the damage was caused by our negligence in handling it.
11. Insurance and liability
Your goods are covered by goods in transit insurance while in our care, up to [COVER LIMIT] per load. Full policy details are available on request.
We are liable for loss or damage caused by our negligence, subject to the limits in this clause. We are not liable for:
- Damage to items you packed yourself, other than by our mishandling
- Existing wear, damage, or inherent defects, including furniture that cannot withstand being moved
- Electrical or mechanical faults that appear after a move where there is no external damage
- Loss or damage caused by events outside our reasonable control, including extreme weather, road closures, industrial action, port or ferry delays, and acts of government
- Indirect or consequential losses of any kind
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Claims
Tell us about any loss or damage in writing within [X] days of delivery. Please keep the item and its packaging so we can inspect them. Claims made after this period may not be accepted, as we lose the ability to establish what happened.
13. International moves and customs
For moves outside the UK you are responsible for giving us accurate and complete customs documentation, including a valid inventory, proof of address and any permits the destination country requires.
You remain responsible for any duties, taxes, inspection charges or storage fees imposed by customs at either end. Where a delay, fine or additional cost arises because paperwork you supplied was inaccurate or incomplete, that cost is yours.
Delivery dates on international moves are estimates. Ferry schedules, customs inspections and border conditions are outside our control, and we cannot guarantee a specific arrival date.
14. Storage
Where we hold goods between collection and delivery, storage is charged at [RATE] per [PERIOD]. Goods in storage remain insured. We may exercise a lien over stored goods where charges remain unpaid.
15. Delays
We will do everything reasonable to arrive and deliver within the agreed window. Traffic, weather, breakdowns and border delays can affect timings. Where a delay is within our control we will keep you informed and, if it is significant, discuss the options with you.
16. Complaints
If something goes wrong, contact us at Office@Movedayremovals.com or 0737 862 6882. We aim to acknowledge complaints within [X] working days and resolve them within [X] working days.
17. Data protection
We handle your personal data in line with UK GDPR. We use it to quote for, arrange and carry out your move, and to meet our legal obligations. We do not sell it. Our privacy policy sets out the detail and your rights.
18. General
These terms, together with your quote, form the whole agreement between us. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
